Challenging the global capitalist hegemony that is destroying our environment is no easy feat. If it were the planet would have been saved already. The rich and powerful are well-resourced, well-staffed and well-organised. If we are to succeed in our struggle for a green and just future, we must organise and use our full collective power. We have developed a series of campaigns to strengthen our communities, build worker power and move closer to unlocking the most powerful tool in our arsenal… a general strike!
Empower the Unions
Free and active unions have a vital part to play in the just transition to a zero-carbon future. The anti-union and anti-strike legislation designed to suppress union activity is a direct obstacle to a greener world. Empower the Unions aims to unite environmental activists and trade unionists to resist legislation that restricts our rights to organise and strike and empower unions to take the action necessary to safeguard our future.
Local campaigns
There are regional and local Earth Strike groups all over the UK. These groups often organise their own campaigns and fight for the environment in their own communities. From protecting local green spaces, to supporting local workers in their disputes with the bosses, to taking on massive multinational corporations.
